The vast majority of businesses operating in the sector of white electrical household appliances are importers and are supplied with products from various companies abroad. Domestic production is concentrated in few companies and limited to certain categories of devices. Also, some store chains and buying groups of electrical and electronic household appliances stores, along with retail trade, they also import white electrical household appliances.
The market size of white electrical household appliances (in pieces) has followed an upward trend during the period 1993-2008. The average annual growth rate (in terms of quantity) amounted to 3.7%. However, during 2009-2015 all product categories decreased, while in 2016 there were signs of recovery. Particularly, in 2018 the total market registered a rise of 3% compared to the previous year.
The category of refrigerators, freezers, refrigerator freezers accounts for the largest part of the total market value (34% in 2018), followed by washing machines (28%) and electric cookers (21%).
