The increase of e-commerce sales, the recovery of tourism, in 2021, as well as the expansion of industrial and commercial activity contributed to the increase in demand in the examined sector in 2021. In particular, the market value increased by 8.5% compared to 2020, a year during which the market shrank by 5.4% (2020/19).
Storage & warehousing services (including cold storage as well) accounted for 60% of the overall value of 3PL services in 2021 and distribution services accounted for 34%.
As regards the breakdown of the market per product category, foods and drinks gained the lion’s share with 43% in 2021. "Vehicles and spare parts" rank second with a share of 10% followed by "Medicines, parapharmaceuticals and medical equipment" and "Other Consumer items" with 9% each.
