The number of sector companies has significantly decreased over the last decade.
The demand for property is affected by factors such as demographic developments, the availability of capital, income developments, construction activity, and tax, financing costs, the return on investments (in property), etc.
Construction activity recorded a rise in 2020/2019 in terms of surface (+9.2%), permits (+9.2%) and volume (+6.2%).
The rental price index has significantly declined over the last decade, while since 2018 it started stabilizing. The housing price index in urban areas has been falling steadily from 2008 onwards, but in 2018 it showed signs of recovery.
The gross value added of the "Real Estate Management" sector has registered a decline over time in recent years. However, during the period 2018-2020 it stabilized and in 2020/19 it dropped by 0.6%.
