Insurance brokers and agents are the highest level of insurance mediation in Greece.
In addition to insurance intermediaries (insurance agents and insurance brokers), insurance products are also marketed by the agency's own networks (agency system), bancassurance and various alternative networks (internet, etc.).
All insurance production (life insurance and general insurance) registered a rise in 2016 (5.7%) compared to 2015, after six years of continuous decline. According to estimates, 50% -60% of total insurance production was distributed to the market by the "channel" of insurance agents and insurance brokers.
The market size (total commission income) of insurance agents - insurance brokers in the period 2013-2016 was slightly upward, despite a steady decline in insurance production. In particular, in 2016 it recorded an increase of 3.6% compared to the previous year.
