There are 22 Licensed Alternative Management Systems operating in Greece. The competent body for recycling in Greece is the Hellenic Recycling Agency (EOAN). The Alternative Management Systems cover packaging, portable batteries, accumulators, waste electrical and electronic equipment, used tires, lubricating oil wastes, end-of-life vehicles (cars) and Excavation, construction and demolition waste.
The regeneration targets covered in Greece in 2018 regard: end-of-life vehicles (cars), tires, Recycling of Waste of Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) and lubricant oils.
The total market value (sales of regenerated materials) increased during the period 2016-2019, registering a rise of 6.6% in 2019 compared to 2018.
