Approximately 26% of the total sector revenues for 2012 regarded international sales. Business Consulting services accounted for 79.5% of the overall sales of consulting services in 2012. IT Consulting and Systems Integration and Development followed which jointly accounted for 10.3% and other consulting services which accounted for 10.2%.
Currently 42 audit firms operate in the sector of audit services, while legitimate (statutory) auditors amount to 1,011. 75% of them belong to an audit company. Several small and medium sized audit firms have been established in the last three years.
The overall sales of audit companies increased by approximately 20% in 2012 compared to the previous year, while in 2011 they dropped by 6.5% compared to 2010. Total revenues of audit companies are estimated to have registered a rise in 2013 as well. Revenues from statutory audit services are estimated to have accounted for approximately 72% of the total sales in 2012.
Revenues from other controls and services accounted for the remaining 28% of total sales. These sales include revenues that emanate from optional controls, tax audits, accounting services, other auditing work, as well as revenues from non-audit work (e.g. revenues from liquidations and court proceedings, conversion-merger-absorption, seminars, trading services, etc.).
