The overall domestic production of air conditioning machinery has registered a significant fall over the last years (cumulative fall of 90.2% in 2017 compared to 2008).
The value of the total market of air conditioners fluctuated during the years 1997-2008. In the period 2009-2014 it showed a continuous decrease (with the exception of 2012) to reach its lowest point in 2014. However, in recent years it has showed an upward trend and it is estimated that in 2019 the market value increased by 7.9% compared to 2018.
The domestic market of coolers (sales in items) dropped by 10.2% in 2017 while sales of central air conditioning units also followed a downward trend. On the contrary, the market of fan coils followed an upward trend.
The domestic sales of coolers registered a rise of 7.1% in 2019. Sales of central systems also increased (2019/18: +8.6%) as well as sales of fan coils (2019/18: +10.3%).
Total sales of split units showed an annual increase of 7.3% in 2019 compared to 2018. Semi-central systems also increased during the same period (+3.5%).
